In 2015, I designed Mix & Match Animals for Kid O which was founded by Lisa Mahar. Lisa Mahar was as well the Creative Director for Kid O at that time and as Design Director, I reported directly to her.
The idea of these Mix & Match Animals came from a childhood experience of mine: I had this book where you were able flip pages divided in three parts so you were able to interchange feet, middle part and head of different animals. I loved this book since it leaded to endless combinations and endless hours of marveling and fun about these surreal creatures. To design something like that in 3D, I thought, must be the ultimate fun. I feel very honored, it made it into such a nice Phaidon Design book which for sure will become a classic for everyone who is interested in toy design and design for children in general.
